This is the one that matters: Deepworld is online again.

After being shut down in 2019, the world is booting back up. Here’s what came together on day one of the revival:

  • The server is live. A private Deepworld server is running around the clock, rebuilt to speak the original game’s language — and it redeploys itself automatically whenever there’s an update, so fixes reach you fast.
  • The original client is back. The actual Deepworld game client has been restored from the ground up and pointed at the live server. You can launch it, log in, and stand in the world again.
  • First signs of life. Tap an android and it greets you — the very first piece of the world talking back, and the foundation for quests and dialogue to come.
  • Getting around. Fixed the Portable Teleporter so picking a destination on the map actually takes you there.
  • Stay in the loop. A companion Discord bot now posts an update every time something ships.

It’s early, it’s rough around the edges, but the lights are on and the world is real. Everything from here is building it back up. 🛠️
